JEAN DRIVE
Our clients love to visit Mexico and wanted to bring a bit of that Mod-Mex architectural aesthetic to their new home. The first order of business was to remove the wall that separated the kitchen and dining rooms to create a grand open space perfect for their large family. We envisioned the new space to have a warm concrete floor and white wall backdrop reminiscent of the modern concrete buildings and traditional adobe structures seen throughout Mexico. Tiles and wallpaper were selected in shapes and patterns from both classic Spanish forms and indigenous art. The large format onyx style fireplace tiles create a central focal point opening out to a classic California yard with a pool. The backsplash window in the kitchen allows room for cabinets on the wall while still being able to keep and eye on the fun outside.
