Born and raised in Los Angeles to Indian parents, Deepa grew up to be fond of the arts, whether it be music, dance, or painting. She grew up watching shows like Extreme Makeover Home Edition, which made her feel inspired and happy to see a disadvantaged family come back to such a beautifully renovated home. When she became a senior in high school Deepa planned to pursue a career in interior design. After finishing up her general education at a community college, Deepa transferred to San Diego State University to complete her bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. As a student at SDSU she had the opportunity to work on valuable projects such as designing a sustainable restaurant for the homeless, a contemporary Hindu temple, and even a housing project for low-income communities in Tijuana, Mexico. During her senior year of university, Deepa was hired by Jacqueline for a summer internship where she gained hands-on project experience and enhanced her technical skills in drafting, material and product selection, and 3D rendering. After completing her education at SDSU in December 2018, she gladly took the opportunity to continue working with Jacqueline at Historia Design, contributing her creative ideas and valuable skillset as Design Assistant.
